Septic Driver and Truck Operator

Overview

Join Arnold's Environmental Services to operate septic trucks and service residential and commercial septic systems. This hands-on role combines commercial driving, septic pumping, and customer service, with competitive hourly pay, paid training, and benefits.

Manual transmission required: Must hold a valid CDL Class B or Class A with no "E" restriction (automatic transmission only) and be able to safely operate a manual-transmission commercial truck.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive septic trucks to customer sites and approved disposal facilities.
• Locate and access septic tanks; connect hoses and operate vacuum equipment to pump and clean tanks.
• Transport and dispose of liquid waste in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report equipment defects or safety concerns.
• Accurately record completed services and job details using an iPad or iPhone.
• Follow DOT and OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and required PPE practices.
• Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch, and keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record, reliable attendance, and a commitment to safe driving and dependable service.
• Comfort using mobile devices for service documentation and communicating with the team.
• Two or more years of commercial driving experience preferred; septic, sanitation, or vacuum truck experience is a plus.
• Tanker endorsement preferred at hire; must be obtained before operating vehicles that require it.

Physical and work requirements

• Comfortable pumping septic tanks and working around liquid human waste and associated odors.
• Able to work outdoors year-round, including in changing Wisconsin weather and on uneven ground.
• Able to lift, push, and pull equipment up to 75 lbs and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay and benefits
