Job Description

Masters Environmental, a Milstead Company, is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused HazMat / Environmental CDL Driver to join our team in the Creedmoor, Texas area.

The HazMat / Environmental CDL Driver is responsible for the safe operation of roll-off and vacuum trucks in support of hazardous materials response, industrial services, environmental remediation, waste transportation, and cleanup operations.

This is a hands-on field position that requires strict compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, HAZWOPER, client-specific, and company safety requirements. In addition to driving responsibilities, this position actively supports environmental cleanup and emergency-response operations in the field.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safely operate roll-off trucks to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste containers, debris boxes, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
Operate vacuum trucks for liquid recovery, spill response, tank cleanouts, and industrial waste-removal activities.
Respond promptly to emergency hazardous-material incidents, including roadway, industrial, and environmental spills.
Conduct DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
Load, secure, transport, and unload waste, materials, and equipment in accordance with DOT and EPA regulations.
Ensure proper hazardous-material placarding, labeling, and manifesting for transported waste streams.
Assist with spill containment, product recovery, and site-cleanup operations during routine and emergency responses.
Set up, operate, and break down pumps, hoses, vacuum systems, and related response equipment.
Follow all HAZWOPER, DOT, OSHA, EPA, client-specific, and company safety policies and procedures.
Perform equipment, vehicle, and personnel decontamination in accordance with established protocols.
Maintain trucks, tools, PPE, and response equipment in clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
Complete required documentation, including DVIRs, driver logs, waste manifests, job tickets, and daily reports.
Capture and submit job-site photographs, electronic reports, and other required documentation using company-approved systems.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, customers, and on-site personnel regarding job status and safety concerns.
Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified and immediately report hazards.

Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating CDL equipment in industrial services, hazardous materials response, environmental remediation, or a related field required; 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Valid Class A CDL required.
Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Endorsement required.
Tank Vehicle Endorsement required or ability to obtain.
Current TWIC Card required.
Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification required.
Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
Must maintain a clean driving record.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, manifests, regulations, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
Ability to complete required reports and communicate effectively with management, customers, and regulatory personnel.
Ability to calculate basic weights, volumes, distances, measurements, and quantities applicable to waste transportation and equipment operation.
Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for reporting, documentation, photo uploads, and communication.
Basic familiarity with electronic driver logs (ELD), email, and data-entry systems required.

Physical & Work Requirements

This is a physically demanding driving and field position. Candidates must be able to:

Lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
Wear respirators and full PPE for extended periods.
Climb, bend, kneel, and work around heavy machinery.
Perform physically demanding tasks in emergency and industrial environments.
Work in industrial, marine, port, and roadside environments.
Work in environments involving hazardous materials, extreme weather, noise, and heavy equipment.

Schedule & Availability

This position supports environmental and emergency-response operations. Employees must be available to work extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as operational needs require.

Work Location: Creedmoor, TX and surrounding Austin-area/assigned project locations | Schedule: Full-time; extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as required.
