Roll-Off Driver

Join our dynamic team as a Roll-Off Driver and take charge of safely transporting and managing roll-off containers used for waste, recycling, and other bulk material services. Duties

• Safely operate roll-off trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload various types of freight including hazardous materials, dangerous goods, and specialty cargo such as refrigerated trailers or tanker units.
• Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely pickups and deliveries along designated OTR (Over the Road) routes.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify maintenance needs.
• Manage manual handling tasks involved in loading and unloading cargo while following proper safety procedures for truck loading/unloading.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers or flatbeds with manual transmissions.
• Knowledge of logistics cargo handling techniques for freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure safety compliance at all times.
• Skilled in truck loading/unloading procedures with manual handling expertise for various cargo types.
• Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits on long-distance routes.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections diligently and adhere to safety protocols during all phases of transportation.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.14 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
