Earth Haul LLC is a growing roll-off dumpster rental company serving Central Florida. We are looking for an experienced, dependable Roll-Off Truck Driver / Diesel Mechanic who can help keep our trucks operating and also drive roll-off routes as needed.

This is not strictly a driving position. We need someone with real hands-on mechanical experience who can diagnose problems, perform repairs and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and help minimize truck downtime. When needed, this position will also operate roll-off trucks for dumpster deliveries, pickups, swaps, and other service routes.

The right candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-focused, dependable, comfortable working independently, and willing to step in wherever needed to keep operations moving.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair company roll-off trucks and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine mechanical repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air-brake, and other truck-related issues within the employee's experience and qualifications.
• Inspect and troubleshoot roll-off hoist systems, hydraulics, PTO systems, winches, tarping systems, and related components.
• Identify developing mechanical problems before they result in major breakdowns or extended downtime.
• Perform emergency or field repairs when reasonably possible.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Communicate parts, repair, and outside-service needs to management.
• Keep trucks and equipment safe, operational, and properly maintained.
• Operate commercial roll-off trucks as needed to deliver, swap, move, and pick up dumpsters throughout Central Florida.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Safely navigate job sites, residential properties, construction sites, and high-traffic areas.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, equipment issues, delays, and site conditions.
• Complete required service documentation, weight tickets, and operating records.
• Follow company safety procedures and all applicable DOT and traffic requirements.
• Assist with other fleet and operational needs as required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Experience: Strong hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing medium- or heavy-duty trucks, diesel trucks, commercial vehicles, or similar equipment.
• Roll-Off Experience: Roll-off truck driving and/or roll-off equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Commercial Driving: Must be legally qualified and properly licensed to operate the commercial vehicles assigned to the position.
• Mechanical Knowledge: Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and general commercial-truck maintenance.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose problems and determine whether repairs can be completed in-house or require outside service.
• Tools: Comfortable using standard mechanic tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment.
• Safety: Strong commitment to safe driving, safe repair practices, and proper equipment operation.
• Reliability: Dependable, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Physical Requirements: Able to perform the physical duties associated with commercial truck repair, inspections, and roll-off operations.
• Schedule: Must be willing to work full-time, extended hours, and overtime when operationally necessary.

Pay, Schedule & Work Environment

• Position: Full-time
• Schedule: Regular full-time schedule with overtime and extended hours available/required based on operational needs.
• Work: Combination of truck/fleet maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and roll-off driving as needed.
• Pay: Competitive compensation based on mechanical experience, roll-off experience, driving qualifications, and overall skill level, plus applicable overtime.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of equipment problems instead of simply reporting them. If a truck has an issue, we want someone who can inspect it, diagnose it, repair it when practical, and help get the truck safely back into service.
