Job Overview
Join our team as a Part-Time Roll-Off / Hooklift Driver. This position will begin on a part-time basis, helping fill gaps in our weekly schedule based on workload and customer demand.

The driver may operate a combination of our larger roll-off trucks and smaller hooklift trucks depending on scheduling needs. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CDL driver looking for flexible part-time work, with the potential to move into a full-time position as seasonal demand and business needs increase.

You’ll be responsible for safely delivering and picking up dumpsters throughout our service area while providing professional, dependable service to our customers.

What you’ll do

• Operate roll-off and hooklift trucks to deliver and pick up dumpsters at residential and commercial locations.
• Switch between larger and smaller trucks depending on daily scheduling and workload requirements.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload containers.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Inspect dumpsters and loads to ensure they are safe for transportation.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, inspections, and vehicle-related information.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding scheduling, placement, access, and job-site conditions.
• Follow all local, state, federal, DOT, and company safety requirements.
• Perform physical tasks associated with dumpster delivery and pickup as needed.
• Report mechanical or safety concerns promptly and assist with maintaining clean, well-kept equipment.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at each job site.

Basic qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience operating commercial trucks such as roll-off trucks, hooklift trucks, dump trucks, front loaders, rear loaders, or tractor-trailers.
• Ability to safely maneuver commercial vehicles in residential driveways, construction sites, and other confined areas.
• Strong attention to vehicle inspections and safe operating practices.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management and customers.
• Dependable attendance and flexibility to work based on scheduling needs.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous roll-off or hooklift experience.
• Previous experience in dumpster rental, waste management, construction, delivery, or a similar industry.
• Mechanical knowledge and ability to identify or communicate potential vehicle issues.
• Familiarity with DOT requirements and commercial vehicle inspections.

Schedule

This position will start part-time, primarily filling gaps in the existing driver schedule. Hours and days may vary based on customer demand, workload, vacations, call-offs, and seasonal business needs.

Applicants should have some flexibility, as scheduled hours may increase during busy periods.

There is potential for promotion into a full-time driver position based on performance, availability, seasonal demand, and the needs of the business.
