Responsibilities

• Safely operate roll-off trucks, including some box truck, and equipment delivery, adhering strictly to traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Load, transport, and unload waste materials efficiently using mechanical knowledge of front-end loaders and other equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of trucks to ensure proper functioning of air brakes, manual transmission systems, and other mechanical components.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations, including handling hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
• Maintain accurate logs of routes driven, loads delivered or collected, and any incidents or maintenance needs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and drop-offs while providing excellent customer service.
• Perform heavy lifting as needed during load & unload processes while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with municipal waste management policies and state transportation regulations at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections before each shift to guarantee vehicle safety and readiness for outdoor work conditions.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with roll-off trucks or garbage trucks preferred.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with necessary endorsements for air brake operation and hazardous materials handling if applicable.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and state transportation laws related to heavy vehicle operation.
• Experience with route driving, load & unload procedures, and delivery driver responsibilities in municipal waste management or similar fields.
• Mechanical aptitude for inspecting trucks, understanding mechanical issues, and performing basic maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence in outdoor work environments involving heavy equipment and hazardous materials when necessary.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely over extended periods while maintaining high energy levels throughout shifts.

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
