The Opportunity: Drivers are essential to our Operations Team. You’ll operate different types of trucks, be responsible for preparing, loading and transporting containers to disposal sites, recycle facilities and/or customer locations. You’ll navigate traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways and lots. Your high skilled driving maneuvers will be put to the test! Don’t worry, you won’t just be sitting behind the wheel all day – you’ll be jumping on/off loading and unloading the trucks and in some cases riding on the back of the trucks for the day. We’ll look to you for guidance on route efficiencies, best practices and to work as a team player in order to build a stronger Operations Team.

We are a locally owned company that has been in business in commercial waste hauling and recycling since 1992. Mr. Rubbishman services many types of refuse accounts including, but not limited to residential, commercial, construction, and many government line agencies to include autonomous.

I. Job Summary

The Garbage Truck Driver drives straight trucks, roll-on/off trucks, front loader, side loader, Fork Service trucks and others. Drivers are responsible for garbage collection services in order to ensure that garbage is transported and disposed of in an appropriate manner. Including driving on a scheduled route assigned by a supervisor or dispatcher, unloading and loading of trucks, moving materials, and general site clean-up. Driver must conduct all activities according to the delivery and collections schedule and all relevant policies and procedures. Also, undergo training to operate street sweeping equipment and steaming operation.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks.

· Operate municipal trucks in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.

· Perform daily safety and maintenance checks

· Maintain a clean truck & secure all equipment as directed

· Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored

· Advise the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs

· Participate in routine maintenance; daily truck inspection forms filled out and turned in a timely manner

· Practice workplace safety

· Collect garbage from residential buildings, businesses, and other facilities

· Maintain daily route sheets

· Dispose of garbage according to set policies and procedures

· Pulls out banned maters; clears all mix loads

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience

· Experience operating a vehicle requiring a Chauffeur’s License. Knowledge routing and local area/streets

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Possess a current Chauffeur’s License.

· Possess a current DOT Medical Certificate.

  • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
