Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of waste collection trucks, including front loader, rear loader, & roll-off trucks.
• Collect residential waste from designated neighborhoods following scheduled routes.
• Load and unload waste containers with precision using manual lifting techniques and mechanical knowledge of truck systems.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks to ensure proper functioning of brakes, lights, hydraulics, and other essential components.
• Maintain accurate logs of pickups, route completion times, and any incidents or equipment issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure personal safety and that of the public.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate route adjustments or address challenges promptly.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) (or ability to get one) with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy trucks such as front loader, rear loader roll-off, dump truck, or tractor-trailer.
• Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery driving roles.
• Mechanical knowledge of truck systems to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance checks.
• Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly throughout the shift while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques.
• Familiarity with load & unload procedures for various waste containers.
• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
