General Laborer / Refuse Collection Helper

Full-Time | Monday–Saturday | Hands-On, Varied Work

Cavossa Disposal Corporation is looking for a reliable, hardworking General Laborer / Refuse Collection Helper to support our refuse collection routes and assist with general labor throughout our operations.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors, and having variety in their day. Approximately 2–3 days per week will typically be spent assisting on trash collection routes, with the remaining time supporting our shop, transfer station, weld shop, excavation department, and other operational needs.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, starting between 6:00–7:00 AM depending on the day
• Saturdays, approximately 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Must be dependable and able to consistently report to work on time

Refuse Collection

When assigned to a trash route, you will work alongside a driver to:

• Bring trash barrels/containers to the truck and assist with emptying them
• Return barrels neatly after service
• Safely enter and exit the truck throughout the route
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with customers
• Follow all safety procedures and direction from the driver and Dispatch

General Labor

On non-route days, responsibilities may include:

• Washing, cleaning, and detailing company trucks and equipment
• Driving a Cavossa pickup truck to pick up parts or supplies for the Diesel Shop
• Providing an extra set of hands at the Transfer Station
• Assisting the Weld Shop with tasks such as painting or grinding containers
• Supporting the Excavation Department with general labor in the field
• Helping with other physical or operational tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record (required)
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must
• Comfortable performing physical labor throughout the workday
• Able to lift, push, pull, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods
• Willing to work outdoors and get dirty
• Flexible and willing to help wherever needed
• Professional and respectful around customers and coworkers
• Able to safely operate a company pickup truck
• Previous labor, construction, landscaping, waste, warehouse, or similar experience is helpful but not required

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
