Junk Removal / Demolition / Excavation Laborer

We are looking for dependable, hardworking people to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position where the work can be different every day. One day you may be completing a full house cleanout, the next removing a kitchen or shed, and another day assisting with an excavation or property cleanup.

We are looking for employees who show up on time, work well with others, take pride in their work, and are willing to learn and grow with the company.

Job Responsibilities

Duties may include:

• Residential and commercial junk removal
• Whole-house, apartment, basement, attic, garage, and estate cleanouts
• Furniture and appliance removal
• Office and commercial cleanouts
• Loading and unloading trucks and dumpsters
• Moving heavy and awkward items safely
• Sorting and properly disposing of materials
• Minor interior demolition, including removing:
• Cabinets
• Drywall and plaster
• Flooring and carpeting
• Doors and trim
• Non-structural walls
• Bathroom fixtures
• Kitchen materials
• Exterior demolition, including:
• Sheds
• Decks
• Fences
• Playsets
• Hot tubs
• Other small structures
• Assisting with excavation and property work, including:
• Site cleanup
• Digging and hand work
• Moving soil, stone, and other materials
• Grading assistance
• Pool removal
• Land-clearing projects
• Loading and removing construction debris
• Using hand tools and power tools safely
• Keeping trucks, equipment, tools, and job sites clean
• Taking before, during, and after photographs of jobs when required
• Communicating professionally with customers and coworkers

What We Are Looking For

The right candidate must:

• Have a valid driver's license
• Have reliable transportation to work
• Be dependable and arrive on time
• Be able to lift heavy and awkward items
• Be comfortable performing physical work throughout the day
• Be willing to work indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions
• Be able to follow directions and work independently when needed
• Work well as part of a crew
• Be willing to learn demolition and excavation work
• Use tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a professional appearance around customers
• Treat customer homes and businesses with respect
• Be willing to work Saturdays when needed
• Be able to be legally paid through company payroll

Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person:

• Junk removal
• Moving
• Construction
• Demolition
• Excavation
• Truck driving
• General labor
• Property maintenance

Experience operating equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, dump trucks, or similar equipment is a major plus.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position. Employees must be able to:

• Regularly lift and carry heavy items
• Carry furniture up and down stairs
• Work on their feet for extended periods
• Bend, lift, push, pull, and climb as required
• Work safely around trucks, trailers, dumpsters, tools, and construction equipment

Work Schedule

Typical work is Monday through Friday, with Saturday work when needed.

Start times may vary depending on the job schedule. Employees are expected to arrive on time and ready to work.
