Position Summary

The Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles, transporting recyclable materials, servicing customer locations, and assisting with collection and recycling activities. This role requires excellent driving skills, professionalism, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Pick up and transport recyclable materials from customer locations to SOS Recycle Centers.
• Load and unload recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain accurate route logs, manifests, and delivery records.
• Provide outstanding customer service at all collection and delivery locations.
• Ensure materials are handled according to company procedures and environmental regulations.
• Assist customers with questions regarding accepted recyclable materials and recycling programs.
• Support recycling center operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent SOS Recycle Centers positively in the community.

Qualifications

• Valid California Driver's License (Class C minimum; Class B preferred).
• Clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial, delivery, route, or transportation driving experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
