Roll-off Truck Driver
Job DescriptionOverviewHemmelgarn Services is a privately owned company that specializes in roll-off service primarily targeting construction and demolition debris. Hemmelgarn Services strives to offer next-day service with in our core area. Our core area lies from Lima to Franklin, Greenville to Urbana. We are a rapidly growing company that credits our success to customers who continually look for dependable service and accountability. Typically: Monday through Friday, every other Saturday, 1stshift, home every evening. Average 45 – 55 hours per week.ExpectationsHemmelgarn Services seeks employees with good driving records, Class B or Class A CDL’s, and 2 years related driving experience. We at Hemmelgarn Services expect good driving habits and proper techniques for setting roll-off boxes to be used at all times. We offer on the job training when you are hired. The first week as you begin driving, you will run routes with an experienced roll-off driver in order to learn all proper techniques for setting and picking up boxes and utilizing any-and-all landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities. Rear or Front Load experience is also a benefit.
Responsibilities
- Drivers deliver, remove and haul roll off containers containing waste or construction debris to and from customer’s sites and disposal sites.
- Excellent truck driving / maneuvering skills.
- General knowledge of mechanics of trucks.
- Pre and Post Trip Inspections
- Box Contracts signed, payment collection, and maintenance logs.
Requirements
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid DOT medical card.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
- Good written & verbal communication skills to effectively work with customers, office, and maintenance.
- Ability to utilize GPS and/or a map.
- Ability to operate a phone to stay in contact with dispatch throughout the day.
- Lifting 75 lbs.
- Entering and Exiting truck several times per day.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the positions (including but not limited to: sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs)
- Ability to drive truck with a manual transmission.
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- Exposure to commercial sites that require use of hardhat and reflective gear
- Hours and physical demand vary by route and time of year.
