CDL Driver – Sewer Pump Truck & Roll-Off Truck (Tanker and Manual Transmission Endorsement)

Greenstone Construction is a water and wastewater Utility Contractor in Seneca SC

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver to operate sewer pump trucks, roll-off trucks, and related equipment used to transport sludge, wastewater solids, debris, and other materials. The driver will perform local hauling, load and unload containers, operate pumps and hoses as required, and ensure all materials are transported and disposed of in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate CDL-required sewer pump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other assigned vehicles.
  • Transport sludge, sewage solids, wastewater residuals, debris, and related materials to approved treatment, disposal, or processing facilities.
  • Operate pumps, hoses, valves, hydraulic systems, and roll-off equipment as required.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload roll-off containers and other equipment.
  • Connect and disconnect hoses and equipment used for pumping and material transfer.
  • Inspect trucks, trailers, pumps, hoses, containers, and related equipment before and after use.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspection reports, trip tickets, disposal records, and other required paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of loads, weights, mileage, fuel, disposal locations, and service activities.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow procedures for working around wastewater, sludge, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly truck, equipment, and work area.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, wastewater treatment facilities, dispatchers, and company personnel.
  • Report equipment problems, spills, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, hose handling, cleanup, and other field duties when necessary.
  • Perform other duties related to hauling and wastewater operations as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the equipment operated.
  • Clean or acceptable driving record.
  • Previous experience operating roll-off trucks, vacuum/sewer trucks, pump trucks, septic trucks, or similar heavy equipment preferred.
  • Experience hauling sludge, wastewater solids, biosolids, or industrial materials is a plus.
  • Ability to safely operate hydraulic and pumping equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including handling hoses, climbing truck equipment, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required paperwork.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and handle hoses, fittings, tools, and related equipment.
  • Ability to climb onto and around trucks and containers safely.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.
  • Ability to work around wastewater, sludge, odors, dirt, and industrial environments.

Work Environment

This position involves local and regional driving as well as field work at wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, construction sites, and disposal facilities. Employees may be exposed to wastewater, sludge, dust, odors, noise, heavy equipment, traffic, and changing weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime and occasional weekends as needed
License: Valid CDL required

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
