Sideload Driver

Join our dynamic team as a Sideload Driver, where you will be the vital link in ensuring efficient and reliable waste collection services. As a key player in municipal waste management, you will operate various types of commercial trucks, including front loader, rear loader, and roll-off trucks, to transport waste materials safely and effectively. Must have CDL, Your role is essential in maintaining clean communities while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities

• Safely operate different types of commercial trucks such as front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to load, transport, and unload waste materials.
• Load and unload waste containers efficiently using appropriate equipment like front-end loaders or roll-off mechanisms.
• Follow established route schedules for municipal waste collection while adhering to traffic laws and DOT regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety features like air brakes are functioning properly; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs of routes driven, loads collected, and time spent on each task in compliance with state transportation regulations.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents or injuries during outdoor work activities involving heavy lifting and hazardous materials handling.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with residents and clients during collection activities.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for air brake operation
• Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as garbage trucks, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks in a municipal or commercial setting.
• Solid understanding of traffic laws, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Mechanical knowledge related to truck maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues independently.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
• Outdoor work experience with a focus on safety protocol adherence in various weather conditions.
• Strong driving skills with defensive driving techniques; familiarity with route driving and delivery driver responsibilities preferred.
• Knowledge of solid waste management practices and municipal waste regulations is a plus.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
