Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

TLC-Patriot is the up-and-coming leader in septic and excavation services in Central Montana. We are a family-owned business wanting to expand our footprint and increase our influence in Billings and beyond, and we are looking to hire individuals who possess a growth mindset and who are willing to embrace the company mission, vision, and values. We are seeking someone who is motivated financially, but also motivated by a desire to excel, a desire for limitless opportunity with us now and in the future, and the desire to be part of something greater than oneself. With our customers, TLC-Patriot stands on commitment, service, and integrity; but as an employer, those values still stand. Our employees are our greatest asset, and it is our goal to always treat them with that same attitude of commitment, service, and integrity.

As a Septic and CDL Service Technician you will be required to be a versatile and skilled driver/operator of septic-related vehicles and construction equipment. You will need to possess an astute attention to detail, a hard-lined focus on safety, and an unwavering commitment to providing excellent customer service. You are also required to be someone with physical stamina and strength; someone who is not afraid to step in whenever and wherever you are needed on a job site; and someone who is willing to work all year long through the many extreme weather conditions that Montana has to offer. The job requires a valid Class A CDL and at least 1 year of professional driving experience. Previous septic or sewer experience is preferred, but not necessary if you are a fast and eager learner. The job is for someone with an ability to troubleshoot and repair septic systems, to think outside of the box in finding solutions, and to proficiently use tools and handle work-related materials. We hope you are seeking a positive, customer-centric, team-oriented, professional working environment because that is what we strive to create for our employees. This position requires face-to-face interaction with customers and a professional demeanor is a must! We respect and embrace the diversity and individuality that each employee brings to the team, but we ask that all employees adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid and current Class A CDL and at least 1 year of adequate driving experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Clean driving record for the past 2 years.
  • Proficiency in the safe and skillful operation of a variety of equipment including (but not limited to) a septic pump truck, excavators, dump trucks, graders, and skid steers.
  • Ability to safely load and unload equipment from trailers, change out attachments, and transport that equipment.
  • Working knowledge of general equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair and use a variety of tools and materials to do so.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn a variety of jobs and skills pertaining to the position.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

DESCRIPTION / DUTIES

  • Must be physically able to carry at least 100 lbs., continually get in and out of vehicles and equipment, stand/sit for extended periods of time, and work, drive, and operate equipment in varied weather conditions.
  • Must be able to show up for each shift with an attitude of professionalism and timeliness.
  • Inspect the assigned vehicle prior to leaving the TLC-Patriot premises for each shift. This includes checking the oil in pumps and vehicle engine daily.
  • Maintain and restock all supplies and equipment as necessary on assigned service vehicle.
  • Safely and skillfully operate the assigned service vehicle and/or equipment.
  • Clean out, maintain, and repair septic systems, sewer lines and cisterns.
  • Anticipate and resolve any on-site issues as needed and address problems and/or conflicts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Always perform duties with stringent adherence to standard safety protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain required reports/documentation of all daily activities and progress.
  • Accurately and respectfully follow direction and guidance of management in accomplishing daily assignments/duties.
  • Ability to examine, understand, and work according to any job plans, diagrams, administrative notes, or any other documentation that relates to specific jobs.
  • Maintain clear, effective, and respectful communications. Handle all interactions with coworkers, subcontractors, clients, the public, etc. in a manner designed to build and maintain long term relationships.
  • Possess a willingness to help other Team members as needed and to cross-train for other positions.
  • Possess a basic knowledge of construction terminology and procedures, with a willingness to grow and learn in knowledge and skills.
