Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Recycling Operator and play a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability through efficient recyclable materials handling and waste management. In this energetic position, you will operate heavy machinery, manage recycling processes, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Duties
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on conveyors, auto-tie balers, maual tie balers, forklifts, and possibly skid steers.
- Handle recyclable materials with precision, ensuring proper sorting, storage, and disposal in accordance with environmental compliance standards
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment and material handling tools to ensure safe operation and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during outdoor work activities in various weather conditions
- Assist with cleaning work areas, maintaining cleanliness of the facility, and ensuring safe pathways for all personnel
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of solid waste management practices and recycling procedures
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to hazardous materials handling and outdoor work environments
- Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence
- Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or sanitation industries is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Strong commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable waste practices
