College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving is looking for a dependable, motivated Lead Driver / Crew Leader to join our Birmingham team.

This is more than a driving position. Our Lead Drivers are responsible for leading crews in the field, providing an excellent customer experience, safely operating company vehicles, and making sure moving and junk removal jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and professionally.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Driver / Crew Leader, you will:

• Safely drive company moving and junk removal trucks
• Lead a crew of 1–3+ team members in the field
• Complete residential and commercial moving, junk removal, and labor jobs
• Communicate professionally with customers throughout each job
• Review job details and expectations with customers before beginning work
• Keep crews productive and jobs moving efficiently
• Properly protect furniture, homes, and customer property
• Ensure trucks and equipment are used safely and properly
• Complete required paperwork and job documentation
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Communicate job updates or problems with management
• Help train and develop newer team members
• Identify opportunities for additional services when appropriate
• Maintain a clean, professional truck and work environment
• Represent the College HUNKS brand professionally at every job

What We're Looking For

Our ideal Lead Driver:

• Has a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Is comfortable driving larger trucks
• Is dependable and shows up on time
• Can safely perform physically demanding work
• Is comfortable lifting and moving heavy furniture and other items
• Has strong leadership and communication skills
• Can direct a crew without needing constant supervision
• Provides excellent customer service
• Takes ownership when problems arise
• Can stay calm and make good decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Takes care of company vehicles, equipment, and customer property
• Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team

Previous experience in moving, delivery, furniture delivery, junk removal, landscaping, construction, warehouse operations, logistics, or other physical service industries is preferred but not required.

Leadership experience is a major plus.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, physical position. Candidates must be able to:

• Regularly lift and carry heavy items
• Move furniture and household goods
• Work indoors and outdoors
• Work in varying weather conditions
• Be on their feet for extended periods
• Safely enter and exit moving trucks throughout the workday

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Moving and junk removal schedules vary based on customer demand, so candidates should have flexibility to work mornings and weekends when needed.
