Duties

• Operate various types of waste collection trucks following all safety protocols and traffic laws.
• Safely load and unload waste materials from residential, commercial, and municipal sites
• Drive assigned routes efficiently while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws.
• Conduct routine inspections of trucks to ensure mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly to maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate records of daily routes, loads, and disposal activities in compliance with safety standards.
• Interact professionally with customers and community members, providing excellent customer service while addressing questions or concerns about waste collection services.

Skills

• Solid knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and manual transmission operation required for efficient route execution.
• Mechanical knowledge to identify basic truck issues and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Excellent driving skills with defensive driving experience to navigate busy streets safely.
• Outdoor work experience preferred to handle varying weather conditions comfortably.
• Customer service skills to communicate effectively with residents and business clients during collection activities.
