Experienced Vehicle Dismantler
Full-Time | Indoor Facility | Performance-Based Pay
About the Position
Payless4Parts is expanding our team and is seeking an experienced Vehicle Dismantler with strong mechanical skills and hands-on automotive experience.
This is a full-time, in-person position. Vehicles are positioned on automotive lifts, allowing our dismantlers to safely and efficiently remove engines, transmissions, drivetrain components, suspension assemblies, and other valuable parts for inventory.
This position is designed for someone who already understands automotive systems and can work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and safety.
This is NOT an entry-level position. If you don’t have experience pulling parts or own tools, please do not apply.
Quality matters. All dismantling work must be completed safely, correctly, and according to Payless4Parts' standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous professional experience as a vehicle dismantler, automotive technician, mechanic, or salvage-yard dismantler.
- This is NOT an entry-level position. If you don’t have experience pulling parts or own tools, please do not apply.
- Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and components.
- Experience safely operating and working around two-post lifts/automotive hoists
- Ability to remove engines, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, suspension components, and other mechanical assemblies.
- Experience identifying valuable components and removing them without causing unnecessary damage.
- Ability to accurately follow dismantling orders and determine which parts need to be removed for inventory.
- Your own reliable hand tools and power tools required to perform the job.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the workday.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and with a team.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Vehicle Dismantler, your responsibilities will include:
- Safely dismantling cars, trucks, and SUVs inside and outside our facility based on what is needed.
- Using automotive lifts and appropriate equipment to access and remove vehicle components.
- Removing engines, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, suspension assemblies, catalytic converters, and other designated parts.
- Properly draining and handling automotive fluids and materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Selecting and using the appropriate tools and equipment for each job.
- Removing parts carefully to minimize damage and preserve their resale value.
- Following vehicle-specific dismantling instructions and production requirements.
- Working toward daily productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Keeping your workstation, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe.
- Reporting damaged, missing, or incorrectly identified/inventoried components to management.
- Working cooperatively with the production team to maintain an efficient workflow.
