CDL Class A Semi-Truck Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to join our transportation team. This position involves operating semi-trucks and trailers to pick up and transport tires and other materials between customer locations, our recycling facility, and other designated locations.

The ideal candidate is reliable, comfortable operating commercial vehicles, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining safe and professional driving practices.

A Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement is a plus, but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate semi-trucks and commercial trailers in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Pick up and transport tires, recycled materials, and other loads as assigned
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers
  • Ensure loads are properly secured before transportation
  • Safely hook and unhook trailers as needed
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and other required paperwork
  • Follow assigned routes and communicate with dispatch or management regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, or equipment issues
  • Follow all DOT and company safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and professional truck and work environment
  • Report mechanical problems, damage, safety concerns, or maintenance needs promptly
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and handling materials when necessary
  • Be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Maintain professional behavior when interacting with customers, vendors, and other employees
  • Perform additional transportation-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely operate a semi-truck and trailer
  • Doubles/Triples Endorsement is a plus
  • Previous commercial driving experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely enter and exit trucks and trailers throughout the workday
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments

Preferred Experience

  • Experience operating tractor-trailers
  • Experience pulling doubles
  • Experience in tire recycling, waste hauling, roll-off, construction, or similar industries
  • Experience securing and transporting commercial loads
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers
