CDL PUMP TRUCK DRIVER / SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Marlin Wastewater Services is looking for a dependable CDL driver to operate a septic pump truck and work as a hands-on Service Technician throughout Moore, Lee, Hoke, and portions of Cumberland County in the Sandhills region of North Carolina.

This is not a driving-only position. In addition to safely operating a commercial pump truck, this team member will perform septic pumping and assist with inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repairs of residential and commercial wastewater systems.

Applicants must already possess the required CDL. Septic pumping and wastewater experience are not required. We will provide on-the-job training for the septic pumping, service, inspection, and repair aspects of the position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Safely operate a septic pump truck to and from residential and commercial job sites Perform septic tank pumping and properly operate pumping hoses, valves, vacuum equipment, and related truck systems

Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns Complete required driving, service, and disposal documentation

Assist with septic system inspections, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repairs Locate and expose septic tanks and system components using hand tools and equipment

Lift, carry, push, and pull hoses, tools, materials, equipment, and system components Operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and machinery

Read and follow basic plans and technical drawings Work directly with customers and represent Marlin Wastewater Services professionally

Use a mobile device as part of our paperless field operations PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is a physically demanding outdoor position.

Essential functions regularly include: Standing and walking for extended periods Repeated bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, and pulling hose Digging and other repetitive physical tasks

Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials Getting in and out of the pump truck and equipment repeatedly throughout the workday

Working on uneven, muddy, wet, or sloped terrain Working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, and other weather conditions

Working around septic tanks, wastewater, soil, mud, odors, and the normal conditions associated with onsite wastewater service Applicants must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle operated

Driving record acceptable under company and applicable insurance requirements Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements for operating a commercial motor vehicle

Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded Mechanically inclined and willing to learn wastewater system service and repair

Comfortable performing hands-on, physically demanding work Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year

Able to follow safety procedures and instructions Professional and courteous when interacting with customers

Able to meet the company’s lawful pre-employment drug-testing requirements

Previous septic pumping, vacuum truck, construction, excavation, equipment operation, plumbing, mechanical, or wastewater experience is a plus, but septic experience is not required.

PAY, SCHEDULE & BENEFITS:

Pay $21–$25/hour, depending on experience Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday, daytime hours Overtime Overtime eligible Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance
