CDL Hostler Driver

Summary: Drives tractor-trailer with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver metal and waste materials in loose or packaged form by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs Pre and Post-trip inspections.
• Safely operates tractor/trailers to facilitate operations in the yard.
• Spots trailers in the dock.
• Applies seals to overseas containers.
• Takes pictures of overseas containers as needed.
• Raises and lowers the landing gear.
• Dumps roll-off containers as needed.
• Keeps truck lot organized.
• Works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Notifies truck shop of any issues that do not pass Pre/Post-trip inspections and informs them when maintenance is due.
• Follows safety guidelines in accordance with company policy and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
• Be at work daily and on time.
• Maintains radio contact.

Qualifications

• Must have current CDL class ‘A’ license.
• Must have a current DOT medical card.
• Must be able to pass DOT Pre-Employment Drug Screen.
• Must provide current MVR, no more than 30 days old, with no major moving violations when applying.
• Must be motivated and hard-working.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Be able to work under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.95 - $30.45 per hour
