Yard Worker / Equipment Operator — Scrap Metal Recycling

We are seeking a dependable, experienced yard worker who can operate a Bobcat/skid steer and forklift, torch-cut scrap metal, and communicate in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Bobcat/skid steer and forklift to move, sort, load, and unload scrap metal.
• Use torch-cutting equipment to cut scrap metal to required sizes.
• Identify, separate, and organize different types of scrap metal.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks and preparing material for shipment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical problems or unsafe conditions.
• Keep the yard, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow equipment operating procedures, fire-prevention practices, and company safety requirements.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, drivers, and coworkers in English and Spanish.
• Assist with other yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a Bobcat/skid steer and forklift.
• Hands-on experience torch-cutting scrap metal.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to handle equipment and materials safely in a busy industrial yard.
• Ability to perform physical work outdoors, including standing, walking, bending, and handling materials.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous experience in scrap metal recycling, demolition, or a similar industrial setting preferred.

Pay: Based on experience and demonstrated skills.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
