Valet Waste Attendant
Coastal Bend Waste
Job Description
ABOUT COASTAL BEND WASTE
Coastal Bend Waste (CBW) is a locally owned and operated regional waste hauler serving commercial and residential customers throughout the Coastal Bend region of South Texas. We're growing our residential service offerings — including doorstep valet trash collection at apartment communities and, soon, curbside cart return service for single-family neighborhoods — and we need dependable, hard-working attendants to make those services run like clockwork.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role is the face of CBW's residential valet program. Right now, that means walking door-to-door at apartment communities each evening to collect residents' trash and haul it to the property's central dumpster or compactor. Soon, it will expand to include curb cart return service — rolling residents' 95-gallon trash carts from the side of their home out to the curb ahead of trash day, then returning them after pickup. This is steady, physically active work with a consistent schedule and a real role in making CBW's service stand out.
SCHEDULE
This is a split-shift, full-time position, Monday through Friday, with weekends off. Reliable attendance for both shifts is essential. Hours may vary or are subject to change.
● Monday – Friday
● Morning shift: approximately 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
● Evening shift: approximately 4:30 PM – 10 PM
We're also open to filling this as two separate part-time roles — one covering the morning shift, one covering the evening shift — if a candidate prefers a single shift rather than the full split schedule.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
● Walk door-to-door at assigned apartment communities each evening to collect residents' trash from their doorsteps
● Transport collected trash to the property's central dumpster or compactor, navigating breezeways, walkways, and stairs at multi-story buildings
● Once the cart-return service launches: roll 95-gallon trash carts from the side or back of residential homes to the curb ahead of scheduled pickup, then return carts to their storage location afterward
● Safely maneuver carts and bags on uneven terrain, driveways, and stairs, in all weather conditions
● Maintain a consistent, reliable route within assigned time windows
● Report blocked access, resident issues, or property concerns to your supervisor promptly
● Represent CBW professionally in resident-facing and neighborhood settings
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We need someone dependable, physically capable, and comfortable working outdoors early in the morning and again in the evening — rain, heat, or cold.
Required:
● Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation — this role requires traveling between properties/routes in your own vehicle
● Ability to work the full split shift, or a single morning or evening shift if hired as part of a two-person team
● Physical ability to walk extended distances and repeatedly climb and descend stairs throughout each shift
● Ability to safely lift, carry, and roll trash bags and 95-gallon carts, including up and down stairs and over uneven ground
● Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions — heat, cold, rain, and humidity
● Dependable and punctual, with the ability to complete a route independently and with minimal supervision
Preferred (but not required):
● Small to large pickup truck — helpful for hauling and cart-service duties
● Prior experience in valet trash, janitorial, landscaping, or another physically active service role
● Familiarity with apartment communities and neighborhoods in the Corpus Christi/Coastal Bend area
COMPENSATION
● $16.00 per hour
● Monthly performance bonus, in addition to hourly pay
● Gas allowance for use of your personal vehicle, paid in addition to hourly wages
● Employees who achieve full-time hours are eligible for CBW's medical, dental, and vision plans, plus 401(k)

● Necessary equipment and supplies for the route (gloves, safety gear, etc.)
