Sweeper Driver

SHIFT:

Monday - Friday from 4:00A - 1:30P and Saturday from 5:00A - 12:00P

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sweeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of sweeping equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety in designated areas. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Drives street sweeping vehicles to clean streets of trash, debris, and other contaminants.
• Fills water tanks and drives a sweeper near the curb.
• Operates controls to activate rotary brushes and water spray to facilitate debris and dust collection.
• Dumps collected refuse into piles or trucks for disposal.
• Daily pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Responsible for daily plug-in hose and clean-out of trash compartments.
• Responsible for daily cleaning system filters at the start of the shift.
• Specific instructions will be provided by the Security Office on a need-to-know basis.

Qualifications

Must have a current California Commercial Driver License, Class A/B.

• Current Medical Card issued by an approved medical examiner.
• 1+ years of experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Have strong communication skills.
• Ability to read and write.
• Maintains safety as a top priority under all company safety rules and regulations.
• Operate sweeping equipment, including but not limited to dump trucks and roll-off trucks, to clean designated areas effectively.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Load and unload materials as necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety measures are followed.
• Conduct route driving to various locations, maintaining a consistent schedule for cleaning operations.
• Utilize manual transmission vehicles when required, demonstrating proficiency in truck driving skills.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and maintain a clean working environment.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tractor-trailer combinations and refrigerated trailers.
• Familiarity with flatbed and tanker operations is preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous delivery driver experience is a plus, showcasing the ability to navigate routes effectively.
• Experience operating forklifts is beneficial for loading and unloading tasks.
