Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator

We are currently looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work at our landfill/recycling operation.

The right candidate must have experience operating a track hoe/excavator and other heavy equipment. Must be comfortable using multiple attachments, including a grapple, bucket, and magnet (mag).

Job responsibilities include:

• Operate a track hoe/excavator safely and efficiently
• Use grapple, bucket, and magnet attachments
• Load trucks with scrap metal and other materials
• Sort and handle recyclable materials
• Identify and understand the differences between various types of recyclable metals
• Keep the work area organized and operate equipment safely around trucks, employees, and customers
• Perform basic daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues

Experience is required. We are looking for someone who can come in with a working knowledge of heavy equipment and scrap/recyclable metals — this is not an entry-level operator position.

Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in an outdoor landfill/recycling environment.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
