Equipment Operator
Must be able to operate and run skillfully, safely and knowledgeably the following equipment: D6, 826, 312, 320, compactor, rubber-tired scraper, front loader, grader, water truck, sander and any equipment deemed necessary to do required job. Need to be able to identify maintenance needs, perform safety walk around, and complete appropriate forms for maintenance. Need to fuel equipment as needed and at end of shift. Need to keep equipment clean inside and out.
Need to participate in safety meetings and employee meetings. Need to be HazMat knowledgeable. Must have Class A CDL with tanker endorsement. Required to work in adverse weather conditions, including summer and winter conditions. Job will require working some Saturdays.
Be able to follow both written and oral instructions. Must work well with the public and co-workers. Will be required to perform a variety of manual labor duties including, but not limited to, heavy lifting, snow removal, fence repair, weed control, septage and grease trap monitoring, road maintenance, pulling tires from loads, picking up papers and various debris, and all other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must be able to maintain a professional attitude towards the public even under adverse situations.
This is a full-time position with full county benefits. Some weekends and being on call are required. The wage is $23.70 per hour.
