Job DescriptionAre you a seasoned operations leader with a background in heavy industrial processing or scrap metal recycling? We are seeking a high-performing Shredder Operations Manager to oversee our high-volume shredding facility.In this role, you will be responsible for maximizing production efficiency, ensuring world-class safety compliance, and leading a dedicated team of supervisors, operators, and maintenance technicians.   • Operations Leadership: Direct all daily operations of the shredder plant to meet or exceed safety, production, and quality targets.
  • Maintenance & Reliability: Partner with the maintenance team to oversee preventative maintenance programs, minimize unplanned downtime, and manage heavy equipment repairs.
  • Team Management: Hire, train, mentor, and schedule a team of operators and laborers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all OSHA, environmental, and company safety regulations to ensure a zero-injury workplace.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Monitor inbound raw materials and outbound processed scrap to optimize inventory turns and coordinate with logistics teams.
  • Financial Management: Manage the operational budget, control labor costs, and optimize the cost-per-ton of processed material.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of management experience specifically in scrap metal shredding, heavy industrial manufacturing, or aggregate processing.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of large-scale industrial shredders (e.g., automobile shredders, hammer mills), downstream separation systems (magnets, eddies, sensor sorters), and heavy equipment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse blue-collar workforce.
  • Problem Solving: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to resolve operational bottlenecks quickly.
  • Safety First: A strict commitment to safety protocols and a track record of maintaining clean, compliant facilities.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; a degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
