General Laborer

Job Summary

The General Laborer at the Transfer Station is responsible for supporting daily operations by sorting waste and recyclable materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting with equipment and facility upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recyclable materials from the waste stream
• Maintain cleanliness of the yard and outside facilities
• Wash and clean trucks and equipment as needed.
• Assist operators with loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment activities.
• Act as a spotter when necessary to ensure safe equipment operation.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous labor, construction, or waste/recycling experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify recyclable materials.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment..

Pay: From $21.25 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
