Job Description

LRI, a Waste Connections Company and part of the third-largest solid waste services provider in North America, is hiring a full-time General Laborer to support operations at our 304th Street Landfill in Graham, WA. This is a 320-acre active landfill that serves the region and plays a key role in keeping the community clean while managing landfill gas, leachate, and stormwater systems in a regulated environment.

In this role, you will be working out on the landfill every day, supporting the systems and processes that keep the site running safely and in compliance. Work takes place across active areas of the landfill, including walking the site, checking wells, monitoring conditions, and supporting day-to-day operations. This is physical, hands-on work that requires awareness, consistency, and a strong focus on safety.

This is a long-term opportunity with a company that promotes from within. Starting as a General Laborer gives you real exposure to how landfill operations work day to day. Many employees use this role as a stepping stone into equipment operation, environmental work, or leadership positions. We are looking for someone who takes the job seriously, shows up ready to work, and wants to build a career in an essential, stable industry.

  • Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor duties across the landfill site

  • Assist with stormwater, landfill gas, and leachate management system maintenance

  • Complete general site cleanup and housekeeping tasks

  • Direct incoming and outgoing traffic to maintain safe site flow

  • Operate small equipment as assigned

  • Provide professional communication with customers, drivers, and team members

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Frequent walking on uneven, dusty, and steep terrain throughout the shift

  • Continuous physical activity for extended periods of time

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform labor tasks for a full shift

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and heavy equipment activity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license

  • At least one year of work experience; outdoor labor or customer-facing experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to meet the physical demands outlined above

  • This position is classified as safety-sensitive. Candidates selected for an offer of employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screening, including marijuana, and provide a motor vehicle report (MVR) in accordance with Washington State requirements.
