Front Load Garbage Truck Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Front Load Garbage Truck Driver to join our dynamic waste management team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized front loader trucks to efficiently collect and transport waste materials from commercial sites. Your expertise in driving heavy-duty trucks, combined with your mechanical knowledge, will ensure safe, timely, and environmentally responsible waste collection. Duties

• Safely operate front loader trucks, ensuring proper handling of waste collection equipment and adherence to safety protocols
• Load and unload waste containers from commercial and residential properties using mechanical arms and hydraulic systems
• Conduct routine inspections of trucks, including checking fluid levels, brakes, lights, and mechanical components to maintain optimal performance
• Navigate urban and rural routes efficiently while complying with traffic laws and company policies
• Assist with the maintenance of trucks by performing minor repairs or reporting issues promptly
• Ensure accurate documentation of daily routes, waste loads, and any incidents or irregularities encountered during shifts
• Support the transfer of waste materials to disposal sites using roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers as needed

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record suitable for operating heavy-duty trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump, flatbed, or tractor-trailer vehicles
• Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or operating heavy machinery such as front loader trucks or dump trucks
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems to perform basic maintenance checks and troubleshoot issues
• Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual lifting tasks regularly throughout shifts
• Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred but not mandatory; training provided if necessary
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy vehicle operation and waste collection processes
• Excellent navigation skills for efficient route planning and timely pickups
