Job Description
Moran Pallets and Wood Products is the leading pallet manufacturer and pallet recycler in Arizona. We are seeking a responsible and organized leader to become our new Pallet Recycling Department Supervisor. Moran Pallets recycles over 600,000 pallets per year! We provide a net positive to our community and environment by reducing landfill waste, reducing demand for new timber and reducing overall consumer cost on finished goods. The Pallet Recycling Department Supervisor oversees all pallet recycling/repair operations at our dedicated facility in Phoenix, Arizona.
This entails:
- Opening the repair/recycling yard each morning
- Ensuring all work stations are operational before pallet repair crew arrives. This means each repair station has adequate lumber supplies and stacks of pallet cores.
- Ensuring all trucks are loaded and unloaded in a timely manner.
- Performing accurate pallet counts for each repair man every single day.
- Ensuring all repair men correctly operate pallet scanning and stacking equipment
- Clear any jams or error codes on pallet repair line
- Ensuring all automated electrical equipment is properly covered and secured at end of day
- Ensuring all staff adheres to correct safety standards
- Correctly identifying #1, #1A, #2, and #3 pallets
- Collect pallet counts daily from forklift operators for all unloaded trucks. Review and match counts to documentation received from truck drivers.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment such as greasing, repair of hose lines, or replacement of hose lines.
- Ensuring all forklift drivers are staging the recycling yard correctly
- If needed, at end of day, ensuring that pallets are staged in case of early next morning pick up.
- Ensuring pallet repairmen have the tools they need
- Ensuring forklift operators have the supplies they need
- Performing daily tool inventory (diesel levels, nails, raw wood, etc)
- Maintaining a motivated workforce
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Respectful demeanor
- Strong Math Skills
- Experience in the transportation, pallet industry, or woodworking industry preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- A driver's License (for company truck).
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Comfortable working outside
This is a salaried position. This is a 40-45 hour work week. Pay increases are negotiated based on time served and merit. Based on experience salary range can be +-5%.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
