Kraken Junk Removal is a locally owned and growing San Diego company looking for a dependable, hardworking Crew Lead / Driver to join our team.

This is not just a labor position. We're looking for someone who can develop into a key member of the company and take responsibility for running jobs in the field.

Our work includes junk removal, property cleanouts, furniture and appliance removal, construction debris hauling, hot tub and shed removal, estate cleanouts, and other residential and commercial cleanout projects throughout San Diego County.

Compensation:

Base pay starts at $25–$28/hour depending on experience and qualifications, with additional earning opportunities including:

• Customer tips
• Performance and monthly bonuses
• "Treasure" opportunities – employees may keep or sell certain reusable/resellable items recovered from jobs, with company approval
• Opportunities for additional compensation as responsibilities increase

Tips and resellable items can provide meaningful income on top of hourly pay.

Responsibilities

The Crew Lead / Driver will eventually be responsible for running jobs from start to finish, including:

• Driving and safely operating our dump truck
• Communicating professionally with customers
• Providing onsite estimates and pricing jobs
• Performing junk removal, hauling and cleanout work
• Leading and working alongside another crew member
• Managing jobsite safety and efficiency
• Collecting and recording customer payments
• Keeping the truck, equipment and jobsites clean and organized
• Asking satisfied customers for reviews
• Communicating with ownership about job status and unusual situations

This is a hands-on position. You'll be working alongside your crew, lifting heavy items, loading the truck and working both indoors and outdoors.

Driver's License Requirements

A commercial driver's license (CDL) is NOT required for this position.

Applicants only need a valid regular driver's license and a clean driving record. Experience driving larger trucks, moving trucks, box trucks or similar vehicles is helpful but not required.

Experience in junk removal, moving, construction, landscaping, delivery, hauling or other field-service work is helpful, but we're willing to train the right person.
