Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Vacuum Truck Operator with a CDL B to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate a Vacuum/HydroVac Truck to perform stormwater system maintenance and assist with construction and utility projects in the Newport News, Virginia Beach area. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project progress while maintaining safety standards on busy construction sites.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks equipped with high-pressure water systems for stormwater system maintenance
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of all equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Assist with site preparation by safely excavating around utilities, pipelines, and foundations with precision
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate project tasks efficiently and effectively
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment usage, and safety checks
Qualifications
- Valid CDL B with a clean driving record
- Prior experience operating hydrovac trucks in construction or utility environments
- Construction site experience
- Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and practices
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues on heavy equipment
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
Physical Abilities
Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools; reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally; bending at the waist; standing and or walking for extended periods of time; hearing and speaking to exchange information; carrying 3-5 lb. electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 50 pounds or lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
Physical Examination Requirements
