Transfer Station Supervisor

The Town of Canaan has a Full-Time opening at the Transfer Station/Recycling Center for a Transfer Station Supervisor. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Canaan Transfer Station/Recycling Center, including supervision of staff, compliance with State and local solid waste regulations, coordination with hauling and recycling contractors, and preparation of the Transfer Station's operating budget.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with several years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal solid waste or transfer station operation, including some supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Possession of, or the ability to promptly obtain, New Hampshire Solid Waste Facility Operator certification at the level required for the facility (commonly Level II or higher, with a Certified Principal Operator designation where required) is necessary.
