Responsibilities
- Operate forklift to efficiently move scrap materials.
- Load and unload scrap metal and other recyclable materials with precision and care.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of the yard by sorting, cleaning, and organizing scrap materials and debris.
- Operate small power tools to process metals.
- Assist customers to weigh their scrap and load information into computers.
- Support manufacturing processes by preparing raw materials for processing or shipment.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders and forklifts, or similar equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Prior experience in recycling environments is preferred but not necessary; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to safety standards and operational procedures.
- Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move materials for extended periods.
- Valid certification for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided.
- Must have reliable transportation.
