Scrap Metal sorter and laborer

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team.

You would grade, sort, clean and bale scrap metal for recycling.

Your duties would include:

-assisting in making scrap purchases which includes removing material from the scale, interacting with customers, and assisting the head forman

-weighing and recording each load, grading and sorting it according to quality and value, either by hand or machine.

-cleaning the scrap metal using either shears or a machine.

-operating lift trucks to move, stack or load the sorted metal.

Work hours range from 40-45 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

The work often takes place outdoors, in ALL weather conditions. The job can be physical with lots of bending and lifting. Conditions can be dirty and noisy. You would need to wear protective clothing such as safety boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
