Duties

• Safely operate roll-off trucks, including front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
• Load and unload waste containers efficiently using manual lifting techniques and mechanical equipment such as front loader trucks and roll-off mechanisms
• Drive commercial vehicles with manual transmissions over designated routes to collect waste from commercial or residential sites
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of trucks to ensure proper functioning of brakes, lights, hydraulics, and other critical systems before each shift
• Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, loads, and service reports; communicate any issues or delays promptly to supervisors
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks when necessary to secure loads or handle equipment safely during collection operations
• Ensure the proper disposal of waste materials at designated facilities while following environmental guidelines

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems used in roll-off operations
• Proven experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers in a commercial setting
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving and delivery routes preferred
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
• Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles with precision and control
• Knowledge of load & unload procedures for various types of waste containers using specialized equipment
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence
