We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Crane Operator / Offsite Recycling Technician to join our Offsite Crew. This position requires frequent travel to landfill locations throughout North and South Carolina and offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, operating heavy equipment, and traveling to different job sites.

Position Summary

Southeast Recycling Group is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Loader Operator for our Rock Hill recycling facility. This position is responsible for safely operating a front-end loader to move, load, stage, and organize scrap metal and recyclable materials throughout the yard.

The ideal candidate will have previous heavy equipment experience, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to operating equipment safely and efficiently in an active industrial environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Safely operate a front-end loader throughout the recycling yard.
• Move, load, stage, and organize scrap metal and recyclable materials.
• Load materials into trucks, trailers, containers, processing equipment, and designated storage areas.
• Maintain awareness of employees, customers, trucks, and other heavy equipment operating throughout the yard.
• Perform daily pre-operation equipment inspections.
• Report equipment damage, mechanical concerns, or needed repairs promptly.
• Perform basic routine maintenance and care of assigned equipment.
• Follow established yard traffic patterns and loading procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
• Assist with other yard duties as operational needs require.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous front-end loader or comparable heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Experience in scrap metal, recycling, construction, demolition, aggregate, manufacturing, or another industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment in a busy yard environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to workplace safety.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work overtime or weekends when operational needs require.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical activities associated with yard operations.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
