Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of junk removal specialists during daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely
- Operate and manage different types of trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws
- Load and unload debris using front-end loaders or manual lifting techniques while adhering to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Drive route trucks safely through municipal waste management routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while complying with traffic laws and defensive driving standards
- Maintain vehicle inspection routines focusing on mechanical knowledge, air brake systems, manual transmissions, and overall truck safety to prevent breakdowns or accidents
- Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials when applicable, following all safety guidelines and environmental regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during pickups and drop-offs; address any concerns promptly and courteously
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers in outdoor work environments
- Strong knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and equipment operation including front loaders and rear loaders
- Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation laws, traffic laws, and safety protocols for commercial driving
- Prior experience in municipal waste management or solid waste collection is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards
- Mechanical aptitude for basic truck maintenance checks and troubleshooting issues on the road

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
