Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator

Essential Job Functions:

· Safely operate a variety of equipment, such as bulldozer, front-end loader, compactor, and other light/heavy equipment to excavate landfill site, transport solid waste materials, and to spread and compact layers of waste and earth cover in an efficient manner.

· Operates Rolloff truck to dump material.

· Assists with mechanical duties with a variety of basic tasks as required.

· Cleans, maintains and accounts for basic tools.

· Performs litter collection, landscape and landfill maintenance.

· Directs customers to appropriate location within the landfill to unload refuse.

· Performs other duties as assigned or required.

· Landfill experience is a Plus.

· Must work well with the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

· CAT 966 loader

· CAT 725 haul truck

· CAT 836 trash compactor

· Any landfill experience a PLUS

· One (1) year experience as laborer and basic equipment operator.

· A valid State of Arizona driver’s license.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

· Work is performed in an outside environment.

· May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

· May be exposed to potentially dangerous machinery, hazardous materials, and extreme weather conditions.

Pay Range: $23 - $27

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
