Excavator Operator / Auto Dismantling Machinist

Job Overview

TAS Recycling is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator / Machinist to join our Kingsport team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating an excavator to safely and efficiently pull engines and major components from end-of-life vehicles in a fast-paced recycling environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate an excavator to remove engines, transmissions, and other major vehicle components.
• Follow safe operating procedures and company safety policies at all times.
• Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain productivity while ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Work collaboratively with the yard and production team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of excavator operating experience.
• Experience pulling engines from vehicles is required.
• Experience in an auto salvage or metal recycling environment is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently.
• Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
