Botetourt County is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Division of Waste Management Operator/Clerk Full-Time.
Job Summary: The Division of Solid Waste Management Operator/Clerk performs both landfill field operations and administrative office functions. This position directs and manages waste drop-off activities, operates heavy equipment and commercial vehicles, hauls and processes waste materials, and supports landfill maintenance. In addition, the role weighs and tracks incoming loads, processes payments, maintains financial and operational records, and provides customer service to the public.
This position serves as a cross-trained team member capable of rotating between equipment operation and office responsibilities to support efficient and effective daily landfill operations.
