Construction Waste Hauling Dispatcher

Global Transloading, LLC is looking for an experienced Construction Waste Hauling Dispatcher to join our team in Signal Hill, CA.

We are not looking for someone who only fills in a schedule. We need a dispatcher who can think ahead, make decisions, match the right equipment to the right job, communicate clearly with drivers, and keep trucks moving efficiently.

Position Overview

The dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily construction hauling operations, including driver scheduling, equipment assignments, job information, dump scheduling, paperwork, and communication between project managers, drivers, customers, dumps, and management.

This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to adjust quickly when jobs, drivers, trucks, or schedules change.

Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers and trucks for daily construction hauling work
• Match drivers, trucks, and trailers to the correct jobs
• Assign appropriate equipment, including end dumps, side dumps, belly dumps, transfers, and other hauling equipment as needed
• Review job information provided by project managers and make sure drivers have clear instructions
• Communicate load times, job locations, dump sites, material types, customer requirements, and paperwork requirements to drivers
• Coordinate with dump sites, customers, foremen, project managers, and operations management
• Monitor daily dispatch activity and adjust for breakdowns, call-offs, job changes, delays, and customer needs
• Make sure drivers have the proper paperwork, tickets, job details, and instructions before being dispatched
• Escalate safety, compliance, equipment, customer, or scheduling issues immediately
• Help maximize truck utilization and reduce unnecessary downtime
• Maintain accurate records and clear communication throughout the day

Requirements

• Prior dispatch experience required; construction hauling, trucking, aggregate, dirt, demo, asphalt, or waste hauling experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of truck and trailer types used in construction hauling preferred
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment
• Strong communication skills with drivers, customers, and internal staff
• Must be organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Must be able to prioritize work based on job needs, driver availability, equipment availability, and customer requirements
• Must be comfortable using phone, text, email, dispatch systems, and basic computer programs
• Must be able to escalate issues instead of letting problems sit unresolved

Schedule

Full-time position. Schedule may vary based on business needs and construction hauling demands.
